Another day at sea gives us a chance to enjoy ship life. The Lido and dining room are now at the temperature you would expect them to be. This is nice. I don’t remember this being an issue on other ships we have been on. The rest of the this ship was warm but the eating areas were very cool.
Breakfast was empty. Maybe folks are taking advantage of room service. I wouldn’t want to eat in our room but maybe those that have a suite and eating area enjoy doing that.
I read an article about weightlifting and posture. How numerous posture problems are caused by bad form in the gym Most folk I see use too much weight and compensate with bad form to move the weights. I like to do a few reps with no weight to get the proper form.
A new cruise itinerary was released today. It is to take advantage of the extra long eclipse in 2027. This best viewing of this 6 minute long eclipse will be in Luxor, Egypt. It will also be possible to experience it in Spain and that is where this cruise will experience it. This is a 28 day cruise that begins and ends in Rotterdam. Booking cruises while on a cruise gives many advantages. The one we are currently on we booked two years ago on a different cruise. The “HAVE IT ALL” package is included. Premium WiFi package for two, drink package, and excursion package. The drink package is really for serious drinkers. 15 drinks per day. I won’t have that many on the entire cruise. We went down to the future cruise desk to book this cruise. The premium rooms have already been booked. These are the rooms at the rear of the ship. It is amazing how fast these cruises go.
I confirmed with the front desk that our bag will be picked up and delivered to our room on Tuesday. I also received a call from Air Canada offering apologies and confirming the same bag reunion day.
Being able to make and receive calls on the ship using our cell phone is brand new. I have been able to make FaceTime audio calls for a few years but making and receiving regular WiFi calls is new. Regular calls have been available on the Cellular at Sea network but the rates were very, very expensive. My cellphone is always on airplane mode. If the phone even rings while on this network I will incur a charge.
Our trivia score was another 11. Clair has the most experience with the oddball questions.
I happen to mention that my dinner entree had been on the cool side the past two evenings. It was obviously cooked and was very tasty but probably sat under the lights too long. My guess is that the kitchen is a bit too far ahead in preparing items but the dining room manager and our waiter took this on like it was a scandal. Both asked if it was any better today. I told them it was definitely warmer but not hot. I’m sure this evening it will be flaming when they bring it to our table.
The evening entertainment was pianist Elliot Finkel. His father was a well known actor and his brother was a famous xylophonist. Elliot is well known in the cruise industry and did a great performance. He decided to do a medley of 23 different Disney movie tunes. Great performance. The house band did accompany him but it was really unnecessary and they added very little. I gave him a 10.
