The Journey Begins!

After the airline lost our bags last year on the Iceland trip, we at least decided to pack a few things on our carry on to get us through a few days. I hope this is not needed. I’m not looking forward to the flight but is a necessary thing.

Julisa was kind enough to make the journey from Dearborn to Grosse Ile and take us to the airport. Our flight to Amsterdam leaves at 6:15 and she got us there at 4 pm. Right on time. Julisa has been helping me around the house as I try to eliminate the things I am not able to do anymore. We rode the 4 skiis from the dock and around to Elizabeth park. We loaded them on a trailer and took them back to the house. 2 have already been sold. 2 more to go. Having Julisa around helping me is very nice. She feels like a grand daughter to me. Her political leanings are also spot on! Julisa just finished her first year of college and is off to basic training for the National Guard on June 29. She will make a great impact in the guard and I wish her the best.

My rental properties are next. 2 out of the 5 have been sold and number 3 just went on the market. 13 years in this business. The government just keeps taking more and more from us. The guys that make money from the rental business are the guys that operate under the table. No income tax. No fees for rental inspections. No penalties. No late fees. No honesty either.

I have been doing a bit or research on the Oshnock family that originally came from Poland. The original name Ojczenasz is from the Lord’s Prayer and means Our Father. AI tells me this is a very rare last name in Poland. This can make it easier to find relatives. We shall see.

The flights went without a hitch and we look forward to checking into our apartment. I don’t sleep on these flights and I am tired.
