The Cloth Hall is in the Main Market Square. The main market square is in the middle of the old town.It is about a 20 minute walk for us.
We left just after lunch. Tickets were time stamped and only so many were allowed at a time. 2:30 was our entry time so we were able to walk around the shops. The crowds were a good sign. This reminded me of France or Italy, pre-pandemic.

As we walked we saw and ad for a chamber ensemble concert at St. Maurice. We purchased some tickets for the concert that evening at 8 pm.
The museum was under neath the cloth hall where archeologists discovered the remains of stalls that were here in the 13 and 14 century. Interesting museum. The same kind of busy has been going on her for hundreds of years. Besides being able to see the old stalls and roads, coins and other objects were on display. We spent about an hour in this museum and then headed back to the apartment. It’s a Saturday and thousands of people are in the main square.
We had dinner and then left for the concert just after 7. I am happy to say I have had pierogi ever day since arriving.
The performance began right on time. The cellist was the first out to perform Bach Cello Suite no.1. The church was large acoustically perfect for strings. The crowd was maybe 100 people but from my vantage point I couldn’t see him perform. This is one of my favorite pieces. Not his best performance I am guessing. The rest of the quartet plus string bass came out to play. Spring from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. Not really together. The 1st violinist took some liberty with the temple but made no effort to communicate with the rest of the group. The bassist and violist looked straight ahead through the entire number. The second violinist was looking at the back of the 1st violinist. These are accomplished musicians and they do this concert every day. Maybe they are bored with it. They played all four seasons. The Canon in D by Pachelbel was the fastest I have heard. Ever. Maybe they had tickets to a show later on. We enjoyed the concert but I can’t help but be critical. I gave them a 7.
