May 9, 2019 – at Sea
We expected more people at the gym before we arrive in Florida trying to work off the extra pounds but I don’t think that has happened. We did hear about one guest who brought 3 different sets of trousers in increasing waist size. Thinking ahead!
We have pulled out all of the suitcases from under our bed and have started to pack. We have 2 suitcases to check, 2 to carry on, 2 backpacks, 2 suitcases to ship and 2 containers to ship. The consumable items have been replaced with gifts we have received and purchases we have made.
Not many are showing up for team trivia. Not sure why this is. Doolin did the trivia today. He has more reasonable questions than Hamish does. One of the questions had to with a musical that contained the song Mr. Cellophane. I recognized the name of the tune but couldn’t match it to the name of the musical.
We have made dinner plans with the guests that we enjoy being with for the final nights of the cruise. Many of the guests we have dined with have already made deposits on another cruise.
Cant believe you would forget Chicago!
Don’t be. I knew it was from a musical I have done but that was it.
So sorry to hear about missing passenger. Tragic really….sad.
On another subject….did you have any luck with the VAT refund? What a process. Golf weather remains terrible here. No relief anytime soon. Good luck on the high seas.
VAT tax story continued through Dublin. We returned to ship and low and behold the ship posted VAT tax refund process in Bantry. It was to start at 9:30 AM. Tenders started at 8:00. What a crock! We ended up going to guest services and dropped off our paperwork to obtain the refund. We only needed the stamp and we could have taken it from there. We left the ship and hiked the rest of the day. Returned and went back to guest services. Seems still no stamp. Was assured we would have it and they will take care of mailing in. Not a comforting feeling. Well…..we asked for paperwork back and took photos of receipts. It’s all in their hands. We should see a credit card credit in about 4 to 6 weeks. We will see. Since the EU farms out the VAT tax refund to a third party, they are in it to keep the tax. If they don’t pay out, they keep. Thus the arduous process is to their benefit.
So looking forward to swinging the club again. Thanks for your continued following and great comments
Even though you don’t have port stops you still have lots to do during your days. Enjoy every minute.
