Detroit

We have a flight scheduled for Monday morning. Detroit, Montreal, then Sydney. Not many flights to Sydney. Hope this one works out.

We have a tour for Tuesday morning in Sydney that we don’t want to miss. Tour leaves at 8:30 am and ship arrives at 8. I doubt if we will have time to check in before the tour leaves. We decided that we are going to leave the luggage at the hotel, arrive at the port at 8 am, take the 6 hour tour, go back to the hotel, get the luggage, and then go back to the port to board the ship.

I’ve been working with the tour guide from Viator and he agreed to drop us off at the hotel after the tour. Hurrah! I offered and extra tip if he would take us back to the port with luggage. “We will work something out”, he said. That is a yes to me. It is a two mile drive.

We played some golf on Sunday but the back just wouldn’t cooperate. Twisting to the left is not too comfortable. Doc said I was free to do anything after the 6 week mark and I passed that last Thursday. Free to do and able to do aren’t the same thing. It’s not like my game suffered because I don’t play very well anyway. Not playing well and pain is not a good combination.

Air Canada is taking us this time. We have experience with them and it is not good. Somehow we ended up in Toronto some years back and sat on the tarmac for 1 hour because they didn’t have enough agents working. After we got inside it was only a few hour wait. Back in Detroit we found they lost a piece of luggage. Maybe that was just a one time thing. It’s easy to complain but some airlines make it too easy.

Jet Blue refunded $40 of the $160 we spent on bags. I suppose we are going home on JetBlue so $80 is for that.

Fingers are crossed for Monday.
