Krakow

We finalized plans for this week. Tuesday we leave for Zakopane, spend 2 nights and return back on Thursday. On Monday, June 22, we travel to Budapest on the overnight train. We will spend Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Budapest and return on the overnight Friday morning. By then our trip will be nearly over as we return home on June 29. On June 27, we visit the Oscar Schindler Factory. This is a very popular museum and tickets must be purchased well in advance. These are timed entry tickets.

We went to the train station to confirm ticket purchases. I did buy two seats on the overnight train. I have to remember that I am buying tickets for seats and not tickets for people. It doesn’t matter who joins me or if it is even me. No ID is asked for on the trains, just the ticket. We will need passports when we travel to Budapest. We will be using the Euro in Budapest and will miss the dollar versus the Zloty here in Poland.

The Cathedral at the Castle is closed because of mass on Sunday. Many retail stores are also closed on Sunday. We walked to the train station, to the Castle and back to the main square. We had lunch in a Ukranian restaurant today. I had the Golabki and Terri the Zarka. Great meal.

Lots of walking and the knees feel good. Stairs are still an issue but manageable.
