We finished our time in Zakopane and it was time to head back home in Krakow. We booked an early 8:30 train. Two issues with an early train. No restaurants open until 8 am and no one able to check us out.
We decided to leave at 7:15 am. We went down to registration and there was a man there that accepted our key but spoke no English. He spoke German and Polish. We ended up using the translate app to tell him that we were leaving and the hotel could call me or bill me. Both of us laughed at the dependence on the phone translator but it did work after about 15 minutes.
First stop was the grocery store that we knew was open. Couldn’t help but get one more paczki. We loaded up on breakfast items and were off to the train station. We were early. Surprise. Early enough to sit and the bench and have breakfast. The train was here but wasn’t going to leave for at least one hour.

Poland would be easy to move to. No culture shock and great public transportation. I would never own a car here. We haven’t been disappointed by any meal so far.
Back in Krakow before noon. We headed back to the apartment and decided the rest of the day would be for recovery. The more than 12 miles yesterday took its toll. Just a few years ago that wouldn’t have bothered us. New times now.
